This is my second GE microwave. The first one lasted 11 years and I loved it! So far, this one is comparable to the old and works great. Hopefully I'll get 10+ years out of this one also. It's easy to use, works well, and just what we needed!

This Replaced our 14 Year Old GE Microwave

This unit replaced our 14 year old GE Microwave that finally died earlier this week. This model is nearly identical to the old one, which obviously is no long made. The keypad design, size (slightly smaller than the old one) and features led to our choosing this over the many other brands and models. Now we will have to see how this new unit performs and holds up over time. Initial impressions about noise level, platter size, keypad design, clock display (green LED, better than old units' fading vacuum fluorescent display) are all good. Purchased on-line after store hours from nearby Best Buy, and their handling of the order and the curbside pickup was a good experience today.

We have only had this microwave two weeks but it seems to be doing a good job so far. We have used it for: pop corn, warming up coffee, and defrosting hamburger.

I like my new microwave. It looks good on its shelf. I replaced my old one that only lasted a mere 35 years with this one. I sure hope this one lasts at least half as long! I only rated it as good because I haven't had it that long.

The microwave really does work great! My only issue is that in the course of unpacking, I found a sticker stuck directly onto the control panel screen. In trying to get the sticker off, I damaged the cover of the control panel, and the damage is very noticeable to me! The sticker said something like "Please remove the protective covering before use." You would think the sticker would have been on that protective covering instead of stuck directly to the microwave.

I am replacing my 20 year old GE microwave with this unit. What I like is how easy it is to use, very quiet and the clock numbers are a bit bigger than in the past and easier to see! While a bit smaller than my 2.2 - it fit perfectly in the cubby and will continue to be a workhorse. If I can get 20 years out of this one too! I'll be very happy. Well done GE. Simple, nice looking and easy to use!

We love our new GE Microwave! We're replacing our old GE Microwave that lasted almost 20 years! That's unheard of these days! This microwave is simple, just like our old one, and it even has the info taped to the inside front opening for help, so we don't have to look it up...(that's for my husband to use..ha!) We chose this microwave to replace almost the identical GE microwave we have had since 2008. We upgraded to the stainless and black look to match other kitchen appliances. I love that the control panel is almost identical to old microwave. My mother is a senior and does not have to learn a new control panel.

Had one for many many years that worked great, needed to replace it so went with this one for the simple fact that they kept it simple and of course it was the same brand and size. I didn't need or want a boat load of cutting edge features and this microwave fit the bill, it has some new tech but doesn't take a degree to use it. Easy to use, just like my old one.

We purchased this new GE microwave to match our other GE appliances and replace the older microwave which suddenly stopped working. It is beautiful looking microwave and has excellent features such as sensor cooking, 30 sec Add, and power levels to meet the cooking needs at a reasonable price. It is spacious inside and is easy to open and close as compared to our previous one where you have to pull the handle to open it at a risk of pulling the microwave forward. In this just press the button and it opens smoothly, no force required and no risk of sliding forward. The best thing I liked about it is the cooking guide on the inside as you open the microwave as shown in the attached picture. Once you place the food inside the oven, look up the guide what button to press and for how long, close the door and start the microwave. I gave it 4 stars because it feels the turnstile is not smooth initially when we started using. It might get better and smoother over time once the turnstile wheels start rolling smoothly with extended use. Otherwise I am fully satisfied with our new GE microwave

This microwave oven is nearly identical to our old GE Microware Oven, which we were happy with. However, the lettering on this new one that labels all the push buttons is more gray than white. Unless a kitchen light is hitting the front panel, it's very difficult to read it. We had to use a small flashlight to be able to read it. We ended up buying a small tool light for it. Would recommend older adults check the lighting where they will use this before buying it.
