This is a replacement for an older model GE Profile microwave. The pros for the new model are that it has a lighter colored gray interior instead of a dark almost black one where you can better see how to clean it and the touch pad is spread out horizontally across the front of the door instead of vertical. It also is opened by a recession in the side of the door instead of a front handle making it easier to clean. The cons are that the door window is a very narrow high profile slit. If you are short in height, it is virtually impossible to look into the microwave to see what you are heating. Also, the door is so wide that you have to literally take a step to the side to open the door so you don™€™t hit your head. It would also be better if the interior of the microwave was white instead of dark gray. It would brighten the inside so you could better see what you are cooking and would be much easier to see to clean it.

Bought this microwave at Lowes along with a complete GE appliance package. This microwave was installed through Lowes but not turned on. After installer left and we used microwave it was very loud and didn™€™t seem right. I called GE the next day. First of all it is almost impossible to get a live person and their AI phone system is ridiculous. You can only be routed to their repair company if you have any issues if you can get that far. Repair company said they had to look at it. They came today and said the magnetron is bad on a brand new microwave and part would have to be ordered and he would come back with a helper due to two man job of removing the microwave and completely taking it apart to fix. This is totally unacceptable for a brand new microwave but he said GE would not do anything but repair it and there is also no customer support or a way to even talk to anyone. I am now sorry I bought GE and should of stayed with Whirlpool. I called Lowes after this and they immediately agreed to replace the microwave with a new one. Too bad GE doesn™€™t have that kind of customer service and sells junk with no quality control and then tries to stick you with it. Glad I bought a five year warranty through Lowes because I will probably need it.

So frustrated with this microwave. Turns on, turntable rotates but it doesn™€™t heat and the light doesn™€™t come on. Already spent $300 to replace the circuit board and a week later it™€™s doing it again. This microwave is barely 2 years old. Tried to schedule a service through GE and that was useless. Not looking good for GE at this point.

So far we really like this microwave. My only knock is that the door is very wide and when you open it the 4 ish inches on the right side are blocked off with what I assume is the mechanics of the appliance. Not a big deal but it would make more sense to me to have that stuff on the left so you don™€™t have to open it as far. I do like that the ™€œadd 30 seconds™€ button will start automatically. I miss that function on a different microwave we have. Looks great and easy to operate

I do not like the touch pad. I have to repeatedly tap on the function or number I want. I also dislike how far the door swings out. I would prefer the touch pad on the right side instead of across the bottom. I do like the interior size.

Terrible Product

After having a father that retired from GE and having a brother that works there I always had a brand loyalty to GE. Even through bad appliances I stayed true, even as my wife was upset at my determination to ride out out. This microwave had broken it all. I affluent over 6k on Profile appliances 3 years ago and this microwave had single handed made it to where I'll never buy another GE appliance again. From the day it was installed and it didn't work and I had to wait 2 weeks for parts to arrive to repair to two circuit board failures. The newest circuit board was replaced 4 months ago and it's already trashed. This is a terrible product and I honestly feel that as a lifelong customer that I was lied to. I'm just highly disappointed that it has come to this.

Cheap looking and bad Panel finish

Bought the Profile assuming it would be premium looking. The finish quality is bad like really bad, the old cheaper whirlpool and LG was better looking for more than half of the price. I have a GE Profile refrigerator which have a premium feel. For the money charged for this just disappointed. Now have to live with it.

Generally happy with this microwave. Installation was straightforward using the supplied templates. The ventilation was easy to configure and connect. It has plenty of power for the things we thrown at it. Connecting the GE Profile induction range was easy and provides some nice features. The microwave doesn't show up in my SmartHQ app so I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if that's expected behavior. The only issue I have is the control panel is hard to see in low light. It would be useful to have it backlit.

We replaced a unit which was about 7 years old that was identica inl make and model to the one we just purchased. The previous unit was of a better quality. This unit is cheaply made and we were diappointed. Interior ceiling is now made differently and will not accommodate a magnet plastic food cover we use. Now it must be laid on the carousel and be removed when it is not needed.

New model same number is not the same

We purchased a new microwave with the same model number ( my previous one was not 8 yrs old and the sensor in the door was blowing out our circuit breaker) we decided to replace it. The new one with the same model number is wider and shorter than the one I™€™m replacing AND the mounting is totally different. We purchased brand new GE profile appliances for our new kitchen, they were installed in April, 2024. We spent more money to get better quality, or that is at least what we were told from Home Depot. This microwave just quit working. It is just my wife and I, so not a lot of use. This is the second GE Profile appliance that died within 2 years.

I literally just installed the microwave. The glass door to see in to the microwave while items are being heated or cooked would be helpful. Talk to your design people. When you open the microwave for the first time there is a lot of ™€œempty™€ space on the right. Since all of the control buttons are on the bottom, it takes you a second to get used to the unused space.

Overall so far I am generally pleased with my purchase. It has many features my old microwave did not have that I like: option to turn off turntable, levels for light and fan are 2 I find particularly helpful. I am not happy with the view into the microwave however. The window is too small and too high for me to see in when using it. Also, and it is far too soon to tell, but the push buttons feel like they are going to wear down quickly. Time will tell if this will prove true or not.

WE HAD THE SAME MICROWAVE OVEN FOR 9 YEARS AND IT STOPPED WORKING. The parts and labor to repair the microwave was 350 to 400 so we opted the purchase the new version of the same microwave for 429.30 + 30.05 tax + 140.00 del & Instl = 599.35.

I ordered the same microwave as I had before that broke. However the new interior design doesn™€™t have the same metallic top and the exterior design is shorter exposing the wood it is attached to. I am short so it is difficult for me to view what is cooking inside. Works well

Microwave is not even 3 months old and already having problems. One of the light bulbs quit working which I can replace. Now something keeps tripping the time off. I™€™ve reset it 5 times today. When we installed it we could never get it level either. It™€™s tilted. No matter what we did we could not fix it. This product cost too much to not have good service from it. I think I got a lemon!

Overall, we are very happy with our new microwave. It has a great range of options for cooking and coordinates well with our new range. It does make quite a bit of noise when it starts up - a bit rattle -y.

I like the look of the front of this microwave, It looks nice. I can't say it is very powerful as it takes longer to cook anything, longer than my last GE, but that had convection cooking on it etc, which I never used. This is good product over all.

My new GE microwave is good 4stars, didn't give 5stars due to the opening in the door not fully clear, it's blacked out on the sides and bottom. This also makes it to high to see what's cooking since it's over the range.

The only thing that was a concern was pairing the Chef connect to my range . Called GE and the tech and I couldn™€™t get the 2 to connect . A GE repair man came to my house and got it to work . He said that it needs to be paired within 30 Seconds. He unplugged the microwave and paired it . Instructions for pairing need updated.
